Design Studio

These courses focus on the design of residential,  hospitality, commercial environments. Types of projects include restaurants, hotels, workplaces, branded spaces, retail spaces including custom furniture design. Emphasis is placed on the development of a comprehensive solution using innovative and appropriate conceptual approaches. Students develop and refine their ability to express their ideas graphically and verbally, and increase their proficiency in handling three-dimensional space with variable end-users. Students develop their skills in research, programming, space planning, the selection of finishes, and the arrangement and selection of furnishings. Students also learn the role and application of building codes to interior spaces and the technical skills required for professional presentations.
