The initial approach to this project was to understand the relationship of a well-programmed and high-traffic space, designed to provide an infrastructure integrated to the mission statement of Oroville Hospital. The first objective was to research and analyze current market trends in the medical industry, focusing on the reception, waiting areas, office spaces, exam rooms, and specialty treatment areas.
The remodeled space is a 68,000 sq ft building that offered a dialysis center, pharmacy, physical therapy office, and an urgent care center. It also includes a medical spa that offers aesthetic services including skin treatments, resurfacing, cosmetic procedures, and internal medicine attention. The proposed design was inspired by the natural forms, colors, and materials of the Feather River location adjacent to the hospital. The lobby incorporates a welcoming entrance with a waterfall and curved pathway leading to designated patient areas.
